YOUR INFORMATION MATTERS
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Sunflower Assisted Living collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information when you visit our website, contact us, request information, or communicate with our team.
Effective and last updated: August 5, 2026
Privacy at a glance
We use information to respond to families, arrange tours, evaluate whether our residential care services may be appropriate, operate our website, and improve our communications. We do not sell personal information for money. Please do not use a general website form, email, or text message for emergencies or to send unnecessary highly sensitive medical information.
1. Scope of this policy
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected by Sunflower Assisted Living LLC (“Sunflower,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) through sunflowerassist.care, our online forms, email newsletters, telephone calls, text messages, and other communications that link to or reference this policy.
This policy primarily describes our website and inquiry practices. Separate agreements, admission documents, employee notices, resident records policies, or legally required notices may apply to information collected in other contexts. When another notice conflicts with this policy, the more specific notice will govern for that information.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect the following categories of information:
Contact and identity information: name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, and relationship to a prospective or current resident.
Inquiry and service information: preferred location, desired move-in timing, care needs, mobility or supervision needs, budget or payment-source information, tour requests, and messages you choose to provide.
Resident or prospective-resident information: age, living situation, daily-living support needs, and limited health- or care-related details voluntarily provided to help us understand whether our non-medical residential care services may be appropriate.
Communication information: emails, text messages, call details, voicemail, form submissions, newsletter preferences, and records of our responses.
Website and device information: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, and interactions with website features.
Cookie and advertising information: cookie identifiers, analytics events, campaign information, and interactions with advertisements or social-media content, depending on the tools enabled on our website.
Other information: any information you voluntarily provide, including information submitted on behalf of another person when you are authorized to do so.
You are not required to provide personal information simply to browse most pages of our website. However, we may be unable to respond to an inquiry, schedule a tour, or provide requested information without certain contact details.
3. Sources of information
We may receive information from:
you directly, including through forms, calls, texts, emails, tours, and newsletter sign-ups;
family members, authorized representatives, case managers, discharge planners, referral partners, or other persons assisting with placement, where they are permitted to provide the information;
our website, cookies, analytics services, advertising services, and similar technologies;
publicly available sources and social-media platforms; and
vendors that help us operate our website, manage inquiries, communicate with families, or protect our systems.
4. How we use information
We may use information to:
respond to questions and requests for information;
schedule tours, calls, consultations, or follow-up communications;
understand a prospective resident's needs and discuss possible residential care options;
communicate with residents, prospective residents, family members, representatives, referral sources, and service providers;
send newsletters or marketing communications where permitted, with the ability to unsubscribe;
operate, maintain, personalize, and improve our website and services;
measure website traffic, campaign performance, and engagement;
maintain security, prevent fraud or misuse, and troubleshoot technical issues;
comply with legal obligations, licensing requirements, lawful requests, and our agreements; and
establish, exercise, or defend legal claims and protect the rights, safety, and property of Sunflower, residents, families, employees, and others.
5. How we disclose information
We may disclose information to the following categories of recipients when reasonably necessary:
Service providers and contractors that support website hosting, forms, email, text messaging, communications, analytics, advertising, security, data storage, customer-relationship management, and professional services.
Care, referral, and business partners when you request or authorize coordination, or when disclosure is reasonably necessary to evaluate or arrange services.
Professional advisers such as attorneys, accountants, insurers, auditors, and consultants.
Government, regulatory, licensing, or law-enforcement authorities when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or security.
Parties to a business transaction in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, sale, transfer, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate protections.
Other parties at your direction or with your consent.
We do not sell personal information in exchange for money. Some analytics or advertising technologies may disclose identifiers and internet activity to third parties. Under certain state laws, those disclosures may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising even when no money is exchanged.
6. Cookies, analytics, and advertising
We and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies to make the website function, remember preferences, understand website use, measure campaigns, protect against misuse, and support advertising.

Do Not Track and browser signals
Because there is no universally accepted standard for traditional browser “Do Not Track” signals, our website may not respond to those signals. Third-party analytics, advertising, embedded-content, or social-media providers may collect information about your online activity over time and across different websites.
Where applicable law requires us to recognize a browser-based opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, we will process the signal as required for the browser or device sending it. You may also contact us using the methods in the “Contact us” section.
7. Care-related and sensitive information
Please use care when sending sensitive information
Sunflower provides non-medical residential care and does not provide emergency medical services through this website. Do not use a website form, ordinary email, or text message for an emergency. Call 911 for an emergency.
Please provide only the information reasonably necessary for us to respond. Avoid sending Social Security numbers, financial-account credentials, detailed medical records, or other highly sensitive information through a general website form, ordinary email, or text message unless our team specifically requests it and provides an appropriate method.
Information submitted through this public-facing website is not automatically treated as a medical record or protected health information under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”). Whether HIPAA or another health-privacy law applies depends on the parties, information, and circumstances involved. We do not represent that every communication through this website is HIPAA-secure.
8. How long we retain information
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including responding to inquiries, maintaining business and resident-related records, meeting licensing or legal obligations, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, preventing fraud, and maintaining security.
Retention periods vary based on the type and sensitivity of information, the relationship involved, legal requirements, and whether the information is needed for an ongoing legitimate business purpose. We may retain backup or archived copies for a limited period after information is deleted from active systems.
9. Information security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No website, email system, mobile network, transmission method, or storage system is completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.
Please contact us promptly if you believe information you provided to Sunflower has been accessed or used without authorization.
10. Your choices
Email marketing: use the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or contact us. We may still send non-marketing communications related to an inquiry or existing relationship.
Text messages: reply STOP to an automated marketing text to opt out. Message and data rates may apply. Opting out of marketing texts does not prevent necessary one-to-one service communications where permitted.
Cookies: use available cookie controls or your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect website functionality.
Review or correction: contact us to request access to or correction of contact information we maintain about you, subject to identity verification and applicable law.
Deletion: request deletion of information, subject to legal, security, licensing, resident-care, recordkeeping, and other permitted exceptions.

We use sensitive personal information only for reasonably necessary service, safety, security, legal, and operational purposes unless we provide a separate notice.
12. Children's privacy
Our website and services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13. Our website may link to or embed maps, social-media services, videos, scheduling tools, or other third-party content. Those third parties operate under their own privacy policies and may collect information directly from your browser or device. We are not responsible for their privacy or security practices.
